

Gordon (Chris) Edward Christensen of Naples, FL, a beloved husband, son, father, brother, uncle and grandfather passed away on September 24, 2021, he was 73. He was predeceased by his parents, Merton Aubrey Christensen & Florence Mabel Senger.
Chris was born in Takoma Park, Maryland on July 7, 1948. His roots are in Wisconsin where his grandparents had a farm. He is a Cheesehead! He would often go to the local Greenbay Packer pub on Sundays to root "Go Pack Go", he was the ultimate Green Bay Packers fan. He also had a love of baseball and was an unwavering fan of the Yankees!
He was a classical music lover all his life and has the vast collection of music to prove it. He shared his love of classical music with family & friends.
He lived in Delaware in his early years and moved to Columbia, Maryland to start a family. He graduated from University of Delaware with BA in History. He was a Blue Hen football fan and attended many of their home and away games over the years.
As well as earning his degree in History from University of Delaware, he went on to attain his Law degree from the University of Maryland in 1973. His career expanded more than 32 years and was intertwined working for Social Security Administration headquarters in Baltimore, MD, as a Policy Analyst earning many awards for his work. He utilized his Law degree during his career and practiced law.
Chris enjoyed traveling, discovering new places and history. He was fluent in German and love to continue to speak and refine his German. He enjoyed learning about the world around him, culture, history and experiences. He loved to grill and enjoyed cooking curry a comfort food from his childhood. His father grew up in India as young boy and brought his love of Indian food back to his family. Chris was a long time member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. His family and his faith were the most important things to him.

Married 2002 Nina Disessa-Christensen and stepchildren Ryan Yerge and Laura Yerge, granddaughters Leia Castillo & Aaliyah Marie Yerge and mother Beth Burlison, mother in-law Estella Disessa, sister in law Nora Field and great niece Danielle Field. Chris enjoyed traveling and he and his wife eventually relocated to Florida a dream of his to settle in warmer weather and Paradise, Naples, FL. He and his wife of 18 years moved from Maryland in 2003 to Naples, FL with two step children and started a new chapter in their lives.
He is survived by his two daughters by a previous marriage. Jennifer and son in law, Nicholas Kernats and their children Antonio Stokes & Alexander Stokes, Alysa Casso & Angelo Casso, Amaia Kernats & Andrew Kernats. Jennifer was adopted from San Jose Costa Rica in 1979.
Lisa and son in law, Wayne Wilson and their children Isabella Marie Wilson & Haley Elizabeth Wilson. Lisa was adopted in 1980 from Baltimore, Md.
Chris's sister, Karyn Derman, nephew David Isaac Derman and his niece Talia Ida (Derman) Salma.
He has 10 grandchildren which he adores and was affectionally called PePa!
Church Services will be held on Saturday, October 2nd at 11:30 a.m. with a Celebration of Life immediately following at St Mark's Episcopal Church, Marco Island, FL.
