Jim grew up in Detroit, MI where he attended Chadsey High School. James was drafted into the United States Army where he served and was wounded in Vietnam. He is a Purple Heart recipient along with other distinguished service medals. He later attended William Tyndale College in Farmington Hills, MI where he earned a Bachelor of Religious Education degree. Continuing his education, he attended Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, IN where he received a Masters Degree in Divinity.
Jim moved to Marco Island in 1998 and worked as a Gatekeeper at Hideaway Beach Club where he retired after almost 20 years of employment. He was also a beloved patron to many restaurants on Marco Island and the surrounding area.
Jim loved the Lord and spent his time volunteering as a camp counselor for many years at the Upper Peninsula Bible Camp (UPBC) in Little Lake, MI. His life revolved around fellowship with others and attending church regularly. Jim blessed his family weekly with Sunday lunches after church.
James is survived by his sister Alberta R. Granda, his sister Louise M. Howes, his brother Lawrence M. Klemczak and his sister Josephine "Bonnie" Michalik. Jim is also survived by several nieces and nephews along with several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his father Frank H. Klemczak and his mother Helen (Nawrot) Klemczak; his brother Frank H. Klemczak and his sister Barbara A. Oliverio.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Marco Presbyterian Church located at 875 W. Elkcam Circle, Marco Island, FL. Everyone is welcome to attend.
James will be laid to rest with full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA on October 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
