

Judith Ann Kouhi, 80, a loving wife, mother and grandmother died peacefully surrounded by her family on December 14, 2022 in Naples, Florida. Judy was the dedicated and loving wife of 57 years to Fred A. Kouhi and devoted mother of Karen, Michael, Roger and Nicole.
Judy was born May 7, 1942 to parents Doris (Dence) and John Stetser in Woodbury, NJ. She graduated from Woodbury High School in 1960 where she excelled in tennis and field hockey. She had great memories of spending summers with her family at the Jersey shore boating and water skiing at Pelican Island, NJ.
Judy Received her RN at Hahnemann Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pa. She was a loving and caring nurse, and is remembered as the neighborhood nurse wherever she lived. She met her husband at her first job working in the medical department at Mobil Oil in 1961. Her nursing career included time in Philadelphia, PA, Flushing, New York, Yardley, PA and Fairfax, VA. She worked most of her life as a nurse, a mother and then back to nursing as her children grew.
Judy’s greatest gift was her love, strength and nurturing support she gave to her family. She is survived by her husband Fred Kouhi,of Naples, FL; siblings Claire (Tom) Sherlock of The Villages, FL; John (Patty) Stetser of Mantua, NJ; her children Karen (Tim) Cook of Portland, OR; Michael (Lisa) Kouhi of Cherry, Hill, NJ; Roger (Helen) Kouhi of Arnold, MD; John Podkowa (husband of Nicole) of Marion, MA; and 11 amazing grandchildren: Emily Cook, Jenna Kouhi, Susan Cook, Alex Kouhi, Kara Kouhi, Kate Kouhi, Lizzy Cook, Julia Kouhi, Alyson Kouhi, Redmond Podkowa, and JJ Podkowa. Sadly Judy’s youngest daughter Nicole Podkowa predeceased her.
Judy spent her retirement years in Marco Island, Florida making many dear friends, enjoying working with the garden club and volunteering with Bedtime Bundles in Marco Island. Judy spent the past five years being lovingly cared for by her husband Fred with support from Rose Tanelus who was an amazing caregiver, friend and became a part of our family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 28, 2022. Family and friends will gather at 11:00 AM with a service beginning at 12:00 noon at Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home in Marco Island, FL. A reception will immediately follow. Family and friends are welcomed to join us in the celebration of Judy’s life.
