Kenneth R Sanford

Kenneth Robert Sanford, born December 13, 1927, passed away November 20, 2011 after battling cancer. Ken is survived by hisbeloved wife of 60 years, Agnes, and his sons Ken (Pat) Sanford of Naples, FL, Gary Sanford of Marco Island, FL, and Dan (Leslie) Sanford of Marco Island, FL. Ken was the lovingGrandfather of five; Ken, Matt, and Andrew (of his son Ken) and Robert andKatie (of his son Gary).

Ken was born in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. He lived most of his days in New Jersey, wherehe resided until moving to Marco Island in 1976. An avid traveler Kenenjoyed taking trips in his RV and visiting relatives, as he was proudof his heritage.He lived a long, eventful life even before his retirement. As asergeant in the Army motor pool during Korea he grew to lovemechanics. Until his passing, if there was a problem he didn't needany help to fix it. Ken was a real estate broker on Marco Island for manyyears before his official retirement. His strength of character liveson in the lives of those whom he touched. A memorial service will be held for Ken on Sunday December 11, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home, 577 Elkcam Circle, Marco Island Florida.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to City of Marco Island-Veteran’s Memorial in memory of Kenneth R. Sanford, c/o City of Marco Island, Parks and Recreation Department, 1361 Andalusia Terrace, Marco Island FL 34145,to purchase a Veteran’s Patriotic Paver as an everlasting memorial to Ken on Marco Island.
