Martin Gerard Wolfe

Marty Wolfe passed away on June 19, 2023. Marty was born in Elizabeth, NJ on July 21, 1940 to Mary and James Wolfe. He began his career with Bell Labs in 1960 and completed training programs at Princeton and Seton Hall University. He obtained his B.S. degree in Business and Management from Fairleigh Dickson University and his MBA at Colorado School of Mines. Marty rose the ranks through AT&T and in 1986 became the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Federal Systems division and managed a workforce of 75. In 1992, he became Director of China Business Unit - Federal Systems. He established sales offices in Beijing and Hong Kong and formed two Hong Kong joint venture companies where he served as president of each.

Marty retired in 1994 and found his new home on Marco Island. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement boating, fishing, reading and playing tennis. His love of tennis is where he met his forever friends including best friend, Tom Schwartzburg, and would continue these friendships for the next 29 years. Every Monday was Boys night out and this group of men could be seen at many local establishments. Marty was fortunate to have Tom Schwartzburg, Bob Ash, Jimmy Karter, George Van Wagenon Mike Yant and Jodi Pree by his side to share stories on the eve of his passing.

Marty’s love for the New York Yankees and his precious New York Giants made for good conversation and debates. Marty met his wife Sherri Kelly Wolfe in 2008 and they married on 11-11-11 with a beautiful ceremony at Bistro Soleil. Their joy of Dancing and Tennis and travel kept their social calendars full.

He is survived by his wife Sherri, his Stepdaughter Ana Higgins and her husband Scott Higgins and their children Liam and Ava Higgins who currently reside in Ecuador. Marty was very proud of Ana, Scott and the kids and loved them very much. Papa Marty will be missed. Sherri and her family will also miss their time with Marty and will live on in our Hearts. Go Giants !!!!
