Nina P. (Capilets) Ammerman, 57, of Naples, FL and Amagansett, NY, formerly of Marco Island, FL passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, John R. Ammerman and loving son Bryan P. Campbell.
Nina was born October 9, 1955 in Garden City, NY, second youngest of five daughters of the late Nina (Lazzara) and Joseph Capilets.
Nina’s son, airline pilot Co-Captain Bryan P. Campbell, was her pride and joy. He meant the world to her. In addition to love of family, “Nini” enjoyed her summers in Amagansett. There she was always at ease with the atmosphere and calm natural beauty of eastern Long Island. She did all she could to help protect the natural wildlife that she felt privileged to share the earth with. Her loyal and lovable Westie “Regis” was always at her side. Her favorite pastimes included a day of shopping with her mother. Nina loved to cook as well as host social get-togethers with her husband John at their beautiful home in Amagansett.
In addition to her beloved husband and son, Nina is survived by four sisters. Joanne (Timothy) Finnegan of Saratoga Springs, NY, Corine Capilets also of Amagansett, NY, Candace (James) Sendrak of Vernon, CT, Caryn (Kevin) Teague of Arvada, CO and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
