

Patricia Ann Staudter of Marco Island passed away March 10, 2023. She was born August 12th, 1935, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Joseph and Violet Mae (Ansel) Swetz. After living in Tucson and San Diego, the family moved to Beavercreek, Ohio. Pat graduated from Beavercreek High School. In college, she was nicknamed Jellybean. Jellybean graduated from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Education.
She was a member of St. Albert the Great Church and San Marco Catholic Church. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and enjoyed selling poppies on Veterans Day.
She travelled extensively around the world, fishing, boating, memorable family summers in Killarney, Ontario, Angliers, Quebec, and winter breaks in Marco Island, Florida, until she retired there.
The University of Dayton Gosiger Health Center was where she restarted her nursing career. She was one of the first nurses at Marco Island Urgent Care (MIUC), Florida, and was there for more than 2 decades. She worked for a short time at Miami Valley Hospital, in Dayton, before retiring.
Mom was always a nurse, studying, keeping up her license and caring for family. Her final day in the hospital, she asked the technician to give her a copy of her echocardiogram results.
Her husband, Donald, sister, Joan Davis, and son in law Jeff Houtteman predeceased her. Her daughter, Anne Staudter, passed away shortly after Mom, in October, 2023. She is survived by her children: Michael Staudter, Lee Staudter and Lynne Houtteman, a grandson, Matthew Houtteman and a sister, Sue Prete. Also, nieces and nephews, John (Kim) Davis, Steve Davis, Paul Davis, Rebecca Staudter-Holbrook (Alan), Zack (Mary) Staudter and Joel (Kelly) Staudter and Carol A. Weaver. Private graveside services and burial will be held at Mt Zion Shoup Cemetery, Beavercreek, Ohio.
