If you knew Andrea Lou Giuliano, then you knew how extraordinary she was. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, friend, devoted Christian and survivor. Andrea passed away at home Sunday, August 4, 2013, surrounded by her family. She died from Pulmonary Fibrosis, a disease she had been fighting for the past four and half years. She was 69 years old.
Andrea was a woman who put all others before herself. As a wife and mother, she loved and supported her family in every thing they did. She was an excellent teacher, the one every parent prayed they would get for third grade. She often said that there is something to love about every single child. She was a good listener and even better at giving her opinion on things. Her friends loved her sense of humor.
If you put Andrea in a beach chair, with her toes in the sand and a good book in her lap, she was happy. Add her children and grandchildren building a drip castle, and things were perfect.
Volunteering with the church was something Andrea was passionate about. The time she spent working at the Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church bookstore was something she truly enjoyed. She also loved the summers she and Bob volunteered at Camp Hope, a summer camp for children of prisoners. Her loving spirit touched the lives of the children each summer as she talked to them about Jesus, tucked them in at night when they were homesick and encouraged them to be the best they could be.
Family was extremely important to Andrea. She will be missed by her father, Robert; her husband, Bob; children, Amy, Greg; daughter and son-in-law, Jeri and Matt; brother Robert, and her five grandchildren, Grayson, Reid, Vivi Grace, Henry and Elizabeth.
A celebration of Andrea’s life will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m., with the service to follow at 3 p.m. Directions to the church can be found on their Web site at www.mtbethel.org.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Camp Hope. http://www.kidz2leaders.org/get-involved/donate/
