Ben was the beloved son of the late Leonard Payne Shoaf and Jane Warren Shoaf. He graduated from Wheeler High School and later attended Southern Technical Institute. He went on to build a successful career with Lockheed Martin, where he held many positions over more than 30 years before retiring in 2022. In 1988, He married the love of his life, Jayne Moore and they spent the next thirty-eight years together before his passing.
Ben worked hard throughout his life to provide for his family, and he found joy in the simple things that brought people together. He loved anything loud with a motor — whether it was spending days on the lake in the old yellow Bayliner, working on his beloved 1985 Camaro, or taking motorcycle trips with friends on his Harley-Davidson. He never met a stranger; he was always the first to crack a joke and had a gift for making everyone around him feel welcome. Ben also loved trying new foods and restaurants and never passed up the chance for a sweet treat.
Above all, Ben will be remembered for his outgoing spirit, generous heart, sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. His presence filled every room, and his memory will continue to bring comfort and laughter to those who knew and loved him.
Ben is survived by his devoted wife, Jayne Moore; his children, Dylan Moore, Abbey (Kori) Rippey and Maggie (Quinn Dougherty) Shoaf; his cherished grandchildren, Teslynn Dougherty, Rhett Rippey, and Ruby Rippey. He is also survived by his siblings, Robert Shoaf, Lendy (Troy) Shoaf Holder and Wade Shoaf; along with his nieces, Brigitte (Greg) Wallace, and Susan Shoaf.
