Her parents were the late Willie Ernest & Emma Croker Conn. She is survived by her children; son and daughter in law, Bob Huff and wife Robbie; daughter and son in law, Sandra Halyard & husband Ron
Growing up in the community of Riverside , living during the depression , she grew up appreciating the hard times and the good times. She lost her Father at the age of 9, putting a great burden on their family . Her Mother was the dietician at the elementary school , but always maintained the household and making sure they had what they needed. My Mother had an older Sister, younger brother and herself. They have all passed on as well. She was married to William Huff in 1945 soon to become a military wife. She raised two children and spent all of her life making her family her career. Living in Germany for a few years and then moving back to the United States to settle down and finish raising her children, she was a very dedicated Mother and made life as easy as possible for her children. She was blessed with 3 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and tried to make them her main priority in life as well. My Father passed away in 1995 with heart failure.
She wasn’t a golfer, swimmer or long distance runner , but she could out cook anyone in the country, and I think all of her friends and family agree that she would instigate a holiday just to cook. Everyone was always welcomed at anytime of the day at her house to eat. Everyone always loved her since of urgency, taking care of everyone and making sure we had plenty of food to eat. She has always been a strong person, and had the determination of a bull. This kept her going for many of the past months during her illness. She didn’t want to leave her children, but soon God took hold, and she went to be by my Dad’s side. We dedicate this memorial to our Mother, and to all that she meant to her family and friends.
To celebrate her life, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 o’clock, Saturday, February 8th, 2014, in the Chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 2000 Cobb Parkway SE, Marietta, Georgia, 30060. There will be a placement of Ashes, following the memorial service, on the grounds of Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be given to, Wellstar Community Hospice.
