Brian John Haddock, of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home under hospice care on September 25, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born on February 7, 1948, in New Haven, Connecticut. Though his family moved several times during his childhood, he primarily grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, alongside his brother and three sisters.
He graduated from Henry Grady High School in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1966 and went on to earn his undergraduate degree from Georgia State University in 1975.
In February 1966, Brian enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam as part of the Combined Action Program, CAP PAPA 2-4 unit. He was wounded in action and awarded the Purple Heart. Upon returning home, he married the love of his life, Patricia Anne Harris, on July 3, 1969. In 2000, he reconnected with his CAP PAPA 2 unit, attending annual Marine Corps reunions every year thereafter and cherishing the lifelong bonds forged during his 0service.
After completing his military service Brian began his professional life in banking, but his quick wit, natural charm, and relentless determination soon led him to a successful career in food sales. He served for many years as Sales Manager for Inland Seafood, where his tenacity and never-met-a-stranger attitude left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Robert Haddock; his siblings Carolann Karutz (John), Tommy Haddock, and Kathleen “Kathy” Haddock Cotton.
He is survived by his sister Mary Ellen Haddock Williams (Robert); his devoted wife of 56 years, Patricia Anne Harris Haddock; his children Robert Harris Haddock, Daniel Rhett Haddock (Melanie), and Mindy Haddock Lindsey (Todd); his grandchildren Brian Michael Copeland, Avery Allen Copeland (Lacey), Christopher Austin Lindsey, Chase Aaron Lindsey, Hudson Rhett Haddock, and Everly Anne Haddock; and his great-granddaughter Raelyn Summer Copeland, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
A lifelong baseball enthusiast — especially of the Brooklyn Dodgers — Brian coached Little League teams for more than 40 years, instilling in countless young players a love of the game and the values of teamwork and perseverance. He and Patricia were avid travelers, with Key West, Florida, holding a special place in their hearts. Above all, Brian was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who poured his energy into his family and took immense joy in their lives and accomplishments.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the hospice care team for their compassion and support during Brian’s final days.
In lieu of flower tributes, The Haddock Family requests that monetary donations be made in honor of Brian J. Haddock to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or to the Charitable, Veteran or Religious organization of your choice.
