Charles Calvin Moon Jr.

Mr. Charles Calvin Moon, Jr, 80, of Marietta, GA passed away June 23, 2013. He was born to the late Charles Calvin and Ann Strom Moon in Atlanta, GA on April 15, 1933. After Charles’s graduation from Brown High School, he received his bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University. Charles served honorably in the United States Army after college. He enjoyed a rewarding career, managing many different departments, for Rich’s for over 30 years. Some of his favorite hobbies were fishing, watching his favorite baseball team, the Atlanta Braves, and staying active in the Kiwanis Club. He loved to laugh, sing and was very sociable. Charles was a devoted husband, father and active pawpaw. Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Martha Moon, , daughter, Vickie Moon Robinson(Kearney) sons, Charles Calvin Moon, III (Marie) and Mark Stuart Moon, grandchildren, Kelly McCallister (Jeremy), Phillip Robinson, Sara Moon, Jeffrey Moon and Brian Moon and sister, Hettie White. A memorial service will be on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 11:00am at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Marietta. Interment will follow at 2:30pm at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Charles to the Smyrna Golden K Kiwanis, in c/o Ailene Wolfe, Senior Center, 884 Church St, Smyrna, GA 30080 or to Mt.
