Cindy was born on September 28, 1948, in Long Island, New York, to the late Sonny and Jean Jones. After one month of Cindy’s birth, Cindy and Jean returned to Sonny and Jean’s home in Miami, where Cindy built a life centered on family, education, and cherished traditions.
A proud graduate of Barry College in Miami, Cindy earned her degree in Early Childhood Education. She shared her passion for learning by teaching fifth and sixth grade at Olinda Elementary for seven years before choosing to devote her life to raising her three sons. Later, Cindy and her husband, Roger, founded Infante & Company. She served as the accounting firm’s office manager and administrative assistant for 40 years, eventually retiring from the business they built together, leaving behind a legacy of tireless dedication and commitment.
Cindy was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter BJ, Miami for 46 years. She served as president and treasurer and was a beloved member. Cindy was involved in chapter activities and spearheaded fund raising endeavors which went to scholarships and loans to benefit women who wanted to improve their lives through education.
Cindy found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved her annual visits to Disney World, cruising the open seas, taking daily walks through her neighborhood, and tending to her orchids. Some of her happiest moments were spent at her second home in Islamorada, Florida. There, she could often be found on the porch, watching the cardinals over the water, reading, playing solitaire, or entertaining the many friends and family members who were always welcome in her home.
Like her father, Cindy lived vibrantly, always ready with a laugh or a smile. Her warmth was the heart of her home, and she was blessed with many lifelong friendships.
Cindy is survived by her devoted husband, Roger Infante; her three sons, Jeffrey R. Infante (Julie), Rodney E. Infante (Marissa), and Todd P. Infante (Rachel); and her six beloved grandchildren—Bella, Nadia, Naomi, Jake, Drew, and Mia—who brought immense happiness to her life. She also leaves behind her adored sisters, Barbara Sams and Michelle (Shelly) Cooke, and her brother, Elwood (Woody) Jones, along with her niece and nephews who loved her dearly.
Cindy will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering devotion to her family, and the light she brought to everyone who knew her. Her memory will live on forever in the hearts of those she loved.
Memorial Donations: In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the World Wildlife Fund in memory of Cynthia Jean Infante.
