

Mr. Donald “Don” Meadows, 60 of Marietta, GA passed away December 10, 2012. He was born in Indianapolis on July 2, 1952. He received his bachelor’s degree from the School of New Learning at DePaul University. Born of little means, Don pulled himself up to become a founding President and CEO of AutoIMS, a software auto auction company. Don was a loving family man, a charismatic leader and a man of extraordinary generosity. Some of his favorite pastimes included playing the guitar and drums with his son and making cappuccino for any of his many friends that came to his home. As an accomplished glass artist, one of Don’s original glass beads traveled into space in 2010 on one of the last space shuttle missions in conjunction with the Beads of Courage charity. With a sharp and quick wit, Don was always able to come up with a perfect pun on the spot. A man of ethics and principles, Don held fast to values of fairness and justice qualites that he passed onto his children. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Meadows and brothers Robert and David Meadows. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Shannon Meadows, son, Keenan Meadows, daughter, Lucy Meadows, mother, Charlotte Turner, brother, Mick Meadows and sisters, Sandy Bothell and Bobbie Ruybal. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 3:00pm in the chapel of H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill. The family will receive friends after the service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Don to one of his favorite charities, Beads of Courage, Atlanta Community Food Bank, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Habitat for Humanity or to Smile Train.
