Dorothy Graham Potter, age 83, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026. She was born on September 4, 1942, in Hoboken, New Jersey, and spent much of her life building a career, a family, and a circle of friends who valued her warmth, intelligence, and steady presence.
Dorothy enjoyed a varied and accomplished professional life. She worked for many years as a Senior Paralegal with an Atlanta bankruptcy law firm serving as a trustee in bankruptcy proceedings, where she was highly respected for her diligence and integrity. Earlier in her career, during the 1970s, she taught middle school history in Cobb County, Georgia, inspiring students with her vast knowledge of the past and her enthusiasm for learning. She also spent several years in real estate bringing energy and determination to every endeavor she pursued.
Outside of her professional life, Dorothy embraced her interests with equal passion. Despite graduating at the top of her class at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, she became a devoted fan of Auburn University athletics and enjoyed attending men’s and women’s basketball games, baseball matchups, and the occasional football game. She found great joy in time spent at the beach, especially along the Gulf of Mexico, favoring the Florida Panhandle and the Mississippi Gulf Coast for rest and relaxation. Dorothy also had a lifelong love for animals and opened her home to several adopted cats and dogs over the years, each of which held a special place in her heart.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Bruce Potter of Marietta, Georgia; her sister, Carol Pap of Summerville, South Carolina; her son, Jeffery Bradley of Atlanta, Georgia; and her grandson, Alex Bradley of Atlanta, Georgia. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her strong work ethic, her kindness to animals, and the quiet enthusiasm she brought to the things she loved.
Her memory will live on in the lives she touched and the family who cherished her.
