Ronnie, I was so sorry to just hear of your mother's passing.  She had a long life.  You were fortunate to have her as long as you did.  I lost my mother in August, so I can understand your grief. My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to you and your family.

Beverly, I just heard a few days ago about Dorothy. I have nothing but good memories of your mother, of her beautiful sewing, her recipes, and her bridge playing with my mother. Of course, they were in PTA together and did everything for our classes. She also had a wonderful sense of humor. Such a wonderful person. I know this is going to be difficult not having her around. I remember how it was when my mother passed away. Knowing Dorothy, she was probably still at the card table bidding on a hand or making something really yummy to eat. She was one of those "super Moms" people talk about now.

DEAR RONNIE & BEVERLY, SO SORRY TO READ OF DOROTHY'S PASSING. MY FAMILY AND I HAVE THOUGHT AND SPOKEN OF HER OFTEN DURING THE YEARS.  SHE WAS A SECOND GRANDMOTHER TO MY CHILDREN.  THEY LOVED HER. WE ARE SORRY TO HAVE LOST CONTACT IN THE LAST YEARS.  SHE WAS SUCH A SPECIAL PERSON AND CONTRIBUTED SO MUCH TO MAKING MEMPHIS A BETTER PLACE.SHE JUST LAUGHED WHEN SHE HAD A HUGE CANDLESTICK PLANT IN THE CORNER OF HER FRONT YARD, AND SCARLETT TOLD HER THAT I SAID" I WOULDN'T HAVE THAT THING ON A BET." Beverly and Ronnie, Sorry to hear about your Mom, she certainly made the most of life.  We all had some good times together.  I remember her making me eat spinach one time when I spent the night.  Funny what we remember.  She was a gracious lady and matriarch of your family.  I will try to be at graveside on Friday.  Take care and God bless all of you.

Beverly and Bill, we were so sorry to read about Beverly's mom's death in the newspaper.  It's been a long time, but we remember you fondly and will be praying for you and your family.

It's been an awfully long time, half a century, but your mother is still fondly and vividly remembered as the model matriarch of your family, a true southern lady, fiesty and fun yet sophisticated and dignified.  She raised you children well and set excellent examples for living a good life for all of us.  Please accept our most sincere condolences for your loss, to both of you and your families.
