Ernest C. Britton Jr.

Ernest Clifford Britton Jr. (March 1943 - November 2014), was a longtime resident of Marietta, Georgia. After a courageous 4-year recovery struggle from heart surgery, Cliff passed away peacefully. Cliff was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia and graduated from University of Georgia with a masters degree in English.

He was one of two children born to the late Judge Ernest and Angeline Britton of Columbus, Georgia and was the beloved husband of Amelia Britton for 51 years. Cliff will forever be remembered by his sister Patricia Brown, beloved children Angelia Britton and Christianna (Britton) Blahnik, treasured grandchildren Madeline and Jackson and, caring son -in-law Jon Blahnik, along with countless other friends and family whom were honored to know him. Cliff enjoyed restoring antique cars and was an avid reader.

Cliff touched the lives of many people with his quiet sense of humor and wisdom, and he maintained his trademark sense of humor and kindness all the way to the end. To honor Cliff’s final wishes in lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to the wonderful people who gave such amazing care to Cliff in his time of need at Agate Hospice, 5825 Glenridge Drive, Building 4 Suite 200, Atlanta GA 30328, Attn. Beau. A private gathering of close friends and family will be November 14th from 3-5 pm at his home in Marietta, Georgia.
