Mrs. Evelyn Knox Williams, 97 of Durham, NC and of Marietta, GA passed away on May 29, 2012. She was born to the late Lindon and Mattie Knox on May 8, 1915 in Brunswick County, NC. She grew up in Wilmington, NC and graduated from New Hanover High School. Evelyn had a wonderful career as an occupational therapist at John Umstead Hospital in Butner, NC. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar D. Williams, daughter Lyndle Credle and sisters Helen Ainsworth and Carolyn Longley. Evelyn is survived by her son Eddie Williams, daughters Dena Williams and Karen Haddock, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM at Glendale Heights United Methodist Church.
