She was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County and was the daughter of the late William Preston Haire and Bernice Lynch Haire.
Mrs. Gupton worked most of her life in Food Service. The Dairy Queen, the cafeteria at Plant Hatch and Baxley McDonald’s was where she spent most of her life. She worked as a seamstress at Ship and Shore until it closed.
Preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Davis (JD) Gupton.
Survived by her children, Gregory L Hall and his wife, Tammy, Pamela M. Griffin and her husband, Jeffery; sister, Nancy Kay Minter and her husband, Frankie; granddaughters, Ashleigh Hall, Hannah Griffin, Alannah Griffin; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday Sept. 14 at 11 AM at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends between the hour of 10 to 11 Wednesday at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
