

Haihong was born on February 6, 1942, in Shanghai, to WenZhong Zhou and ShuiQing Wu. She graduated from Beijing Medical School and went on to serve both as a schoolteacher and a medical doctor in Shanghai. Throughout her career, she was deeply committed to education and to the care and well-being of others. Even after retirement, she continued to share her knowledge by teaching nutrition and medical courses at a vocational school for retirees in Shanghai, reflecting her lifelong passion for learning, service, and helping others thrive.
Following the passing of her beloved husband in 2019, Haihong moved to Marietta, Georgia, to be near her daughter and son-in-law. In October 2019, she became a Christian and found great joy, comfort, and fellowship in her church family at Atlanta Chinese Christian Church NW. Her faith became a deeply cherished and guiding part of her life.
Haihong was preceded in death by her husband, Peikun Dai; her parents; and her younger brother, Haiyao Wu of the Netherlands.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Diane Pettit, and son-in-law, Randall Pettit; her nephew, Liang Wu, his wife, and their two children in the Netherlands; her niece, SiJia Wu, her husband, and their two sons in the Netherlands; as well as many cousins and dear friends in China.
The family will receive guests from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026, at H.M. Patterson & Sons – Canton Hill Chapel, 1157 Old Canton Road, Marietta, GA 30068.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Atlanta Chinese Christian Church NW, 1837 Bill Murdock Road, Marietta, GA 30062.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation.
