

Helen Shoemaker, age 93 of Marietta Georgia, passed away on November 9, 2024. She was born in Dayton, Ohio to the late Dale and Irene Lutz. In addition to her parents she was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Jim and brothers Lamar and Larry Lutz. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Mechalas of Hatboro, Pennsylvania, daughters: Diana Morrett (Brian) of Marietta, Georgia, Kelly Garanzuay (Xavier) of Canton, Georgia and grandchildren Jeff (Emily) Morrett, Nicholas (Joey) Morrett, Xamina Garanzuay and Xander Garanzuay and 3 great grandchildren.
Helen graduated from Beavercreek High School (Ohio), and attended Manchester College (Indiana). She dedicated many years of service to Hobart Corporation headquarters in Troy, Ohio. While in Troy, she was an active member of Eastern Sta, played the organ for her church, and sang in the choir. During her moves to Arlington, Texas, St Louis, Missouri and Memphis, Tennessee with her husband, she continued her career with Holiday Inn/Embassy Suites Corporation.
A woman of many talents and interests, Helen found joy in gardening, sewing, dancing, attending music concerts, watching all kinds of sports, Marietta Kiwanis and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Helen’s vibrant spirit and love for life will be celebrated at a gathering after the Holidays. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, leaving a lasting imprint on our hearts.
