Hendrina Mary Goldsmith

Hendrina Mary Goldsmith. Wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, friend, neighbor, patriot, loving, supportive, hardworking, Mary was born on December 4, 1937 in Johannesburg, South Africa, the daughter of Ockert John and Elizabeth Magdalena Louw. Her husband and soul mate, Keith Goldsmith, preceded Mary in death. She moved to America in 1997 when she was 60 and was never more proud than the day she became a US citizen. In South Africa, Mary worked as an office manager, a store manager, and a car salesperson, while in Atlanta she ran a kids club at a local grocery store before caring for and doting on her 3 grandsons. Mary passed away peacefully on February 25, 2012 with her family holding her hand. She leaves behind her daughter Lisa Brattin and husband Tom and their sons: Remington (12), Connor (9), and Kincaid (5), plus an extended family in South Africa, New Zealand, England and Australia. The cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Wednesday Morning, March 7th at 10:30 am in the Chapel at Mt Bethel United Methodist Church, 4385 Lower Roswell Road Marietta, Georgia, 30068 770-971-2880. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to The Salvation Army.
