Rev. Hugh Bruce Duling Jr.

Rev. Dr. Hugh Bruce Duling, Jr. passed away April 16, 2014. He was born in Atlanta on Dec. 4, 1924. He later graduated from Boys High in 1942. After high school he attended Emory University graduating with a degree in Education followed with a Masters in Divinity. He became an ordained United Methodist Minister in 1947, serving churches throughout the North Georgia Conference until he retired in 1994. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Lucy Harris Duling; and son H. Bruce Duling, III; parents, Hugh B. Duling, Sr and Kathleen Williams Duling; and brother, Robert. Surviving are his wife, Betty; daughter, Rebecca; son, Marshall and his wife, Victoria; and 2 stepdaughters, Vanessa Conforti and Shannon Crayford and her husband, Trey. Hugh was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 11 nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11 o’clock a.m. on Saturday at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill Chapel in Marietta, with a burial to follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Tucker. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening; from 6-8 p.m. Donations may be made to Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church or the MS Foundation. Arrangements under the direction of H.M. Patterson & Son-Canton Hill Chapel, Marietta, GA.
