

Mr. James E. Heck, age 86, passed away Monday, June 1, 2015 at Presbyterian Village in Austell, GA. He was born in Rich Hill, MO to Howell and Edith Hoover Heck on November 4, 1928. He attended University of Missouri and received a BS degree in Mathematics and Physics from Central Missouri State College. During the Korean War, he served his country stateside in the Army Corps of Engineers. For a short while, he was an engineer with the Army Chemical Center in Maryland followed by a distinguished career of 35 years with General Electric in Medical Imaging Sales. He lived over 25 years in Charlotte, NC and was a member of the Matthews United Methodist Church. He and his late wife were members of the Charlotte Retired Couples Club. He enjoyed playing golf and bridge. Mr. Heck is survived by two sons; James E Heck II and wife, Kathy of Powder Springs, GA, and Steven D. Heck of Laurel, MD. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 56 years, Thelma Guerra Heck of Framingham, MA, and a brother Howell H. Heck of Conway, AR. At Mr. Heck’s request his body has been cremated and a private family service will be held later.
