Janet Thomas Richards

Janet Thomas Richards, age 92 of Atlanta, Georgia, peacefully passed away on March 27, 2023. Daughter of the late Willard Thomas and Lucretia (nee Fine) Thomas, Janet was born on November 6, 1930 in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.

In 1952, Janet graduated from Penn State University after earning a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Arts and Letters. On October 12, 1985, she married the love of her life and fellow Penn State graduate, John T. Richards. They spent the next thirty-one years together before his passing on December 19, 2016.

Throughout her life, Janet loved spending quality time making memories with her friends and her neighbors. She always loved animals, opening her home to a stray dog and feeding many neighborhood cats through the years. In her spare time, she was an avid reader, including books as well the Wall Street Journal - always completing the daily crossword puzzle.

Janet was a loving wife, step-mother, and friend and will be missed by all.

Janet T. Richards is survived by her step-daughter, Kathleen Richards, life-long friend Barbara Von Dran and extended family members and friends to cherish her memory. A Celebration of Life service for Janet may be held at a later date.
