

Joan was born on June 17, 1949, in Georgia. She dedicated much of her life to feeding children and families, retiring after many years of devoted service with Clayton County Public Schools. Her career was marked by her passion for food and her lasting impact on students, colleagues, and the community she cared for so deeply.
Joan enjoyed spending her spare time with her cherished grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. She was an avid animal lover and found happiness in the simple pleasures of life — from playing the lottery to trips to the casino with friends and family.
Joan was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ralph and Lorene Harrison, and her brother, Lewis Eugene Harrison.
She is survived by her sister, Delores Jackson, and her devoted daughters, Christina Pitner, Jennifer Hiromoto, and Amanda Owens, who will carry forward her legacy of love, laughter, and strength. She also leaves behind 4 precious grandchildren who will forever remember her warmth and affection.
Joan’s kindness, generosity, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
