John Leo Crochet, Jr., 85, of Kennesaw, GA, formally of Baton Rouge, LA, died on August 5, 2021. He was born on April 1, 1936. He was predeceased by his parents, John Leo Crochet, Sr. and Marie Simoneaux Crochet.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Beverly Landry Crochet; his daughter: Debbie Crochet of Roswell, GA; sons: David Crochet and his wife, Ann, of Huntington Beach, CA; Daniel Crochet and his wife, Jill, of Las Vegas, NV; and grandchildren: Courtney and Matthew Crochet and great-grandchild, Jasyn.
Leo was a 1954 graduate of Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana State University school of engineering in 1959, and Georgia State University with an MBA in 1974.
Leo was in the U. S. Air Force for 9 ½ years, serving in Vietnam from 1965-66. He worked as a civilian for the USAF as an engineer and contract officer, retiring in 1988. He then worked for Lockheed until he retired in 2000. He was an instrument rated private pilot and enjoyed flying, boating, traveling and, especially, visiting family.
There will be a private burial for the immediate family. There will be a memorial service to celebrate his life when it is safe to gather again.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, please give memorials to the charity of their choice.
