John Dougherty

John Dougherty, age 54, of Marietta, Georgia succumbed to a fatal heart attack early Wednesday morning, February 2, 2011. The youngest son of the late James Dougherty and the late Anna F. Dougherty, Mr. Dougherty was born in the Bronx, New York and was a graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School and Pace University. He was a loving husband and devoted father. He had a lifelong love of the New York Mets, the New York Rangers and the New York Giants. Mr. Dougherty spent his 30-plus-year career in the financial services industry, working for such firms as SG Cowen & Co., Pershing, Herzog Heine Geduld Inc., SunTrust Securities and Game Plan Marketing. Survivors include his wife, Stacey; his daughter Devon, 15; his sister Doreen Peznowski of Waterbury, Connecticut; niece Lisa Rabuska; and nephews James, Michael and Daniel Dougherty. A private viewing for immediate family only will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at H. M. Patterson & Son-Canton Hill Chapel followed by cremation. On Saturday the family will receive visitors at their home in Marietta from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Heart Association.
