Kyle Arthur Sim was born November 30, 1989, in Atlanta, Georgia. He grew up in Marietta, graduating from Walton High School and The University of Georgia. His towering intellect and deep love of literature shaped much of his life. At age 24, he made the bold move to Brooklyn, NY, working in food service before turning his focus to writing, where his thoughtful reviews of books, movies, and television found a wide and loyal audience.
Kyle poured his passion into the theater, and into the nonprofit he founded, the Forgibness Library & Archive, named in honor of his grandfather. The organization promoted awareness and appreciation of graphic novels, and through his dedication and vision, he built a vast collection of illustrated literature and comix titles, all available to the public. Beyond his creative work, Kyle loved Broadway, theme parks, riding roller coasters (he knew each manufacturer and the year each coaster was placed in service), and playing cribbage, where he was reigning Sim Family Champion for decades.
Kyle is survived by his husband, Harvey; parents, Bruce and Kathy; brother Dylan, and sister-in-law Alex.
“We will miss your laughter and your smile, and cherish your time with us always, even though it was all too brief”.
