LaNelle Williams Warren

Mrs. LaNelle Williams Warren, 96, of Marietta, GA passed away July 31, 2013. She was born in Dublin, GA on June 2, 1917 to the late Nina and Edwin Williams. As a young child, she moved to Atlanta and graduated from Atlanta Commercial High School. LaNelle attended the Georgia Division Evening School. She enjoyed a career as an X-ray and lab technician before she became a home maker. LaNelle stayed very active in her community, serving at Cascade Baptist Church, Beecher Hills Baptist Church and most recently East Side Baptist Church, teaching children in Sunday School and in the church choir. Her favorite pastime was china painting. She also served on PTAs and many organizations concerning children. She was a devoted wife and mother, always putting her children first. LaNelle will be greatly missed by her loving family. Her family wishes to thank her longtime caregivers, Melvina Freeman and Minnie Culpepper. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Kermit G. Warren, brothers, Edwin Williams, Jr and Spruce Williams, and sisters, Anne Pierce and Jane Andrusky. She is survived by her son, Kermit G. Warren, Jr (Joyce), daughters, Nina Jagers and Kerry Tate (Larry), grandchildren, Kathy Marchetti, Lisa Wacha, Nancy Hartgrove and Mark Warren and 6 great-grandchildren and sister, Gertrude Slider. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 2:00pm in the chapel of H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill, Marietta. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.
