

Laura Tristan Varga, age 74, of Canton, Georgia, a native ofHouston, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by those she loved. Born on January 21, 1952, she was the cherished daughter of the late Richard Tristen and Ora Tristan.
Laura was a devoted educator and lifelong learner. She graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Education, fulfilling her calling to teach and inspire young minds. Throughout her career, she touched countless lives with her patience, kindness, and passion for learning. Teaching was not just her profession, but her heart’s work.
Beyond the classroom, Laura found joy in creativity and storytelling. She loved arts and crafts, especially quilting, where her careful hands and artistic eye created treasured pieces for family and friends. She was an avid reader who delighted in the imaginative world of Harry Potter and deeply appreciated the works of Flannery O’Connor. Books were among her greatest companions, and she encouraged a love of reading in everyone around her.
Laura will be remembered for her warm spirit, gentle strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Tony Vergas; her daughter, Mariah; and her son, Richard. She also leaves behind extended family members, dear friends, former students, and colleagues whose lives were enriched by knowing her.
Her legacy of love, creativity, and dedication to education will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.
