

Mr. Larry Wolst, 69 of Dallas, GA passed away on November 26, 2022. Larry was originally from Bethlehem, PA and graduated from Saucon Valley High School in 1971. At the age of 17 years old, Larry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
Lawrence “Larry” Wolst proudly served his country as a United States Marine on active duty from January 1972 to January 1976 , being released from active duty with the rank of Corporal.
His service to his country and the Marine Corps did not end with his release from active duty. In 2017 Larry joined the Marine Corp League Detachment 1311 in Woodstock Georgia and immediately became very much involved in the numerous Detachment activities, including the Detachment Color Guard, once again demonstrating his desire to serve his country and his fellow veterans. When the Detachment formed the Ceremonial Rifle Team in 2017, Larry was one of the first to volunteer and became a rifleman as well as Team bugler. The mission of the Ceremonial Rifle Team is to ensure every deceased veteran received there full military funeral honors, to include three volley’s of fire whenever possible; the team motto is “It’s our Duty”. During the following five years, whenever requested, Larry and the Team traveled the State of Georgia conducting Military Funeral Rifle Honors for the fallen Veterans of all branches of the military. The team recently completed its 656th mission, conducting honors for fallen Veterans. Although Larry suffered several medical setbacks, including receiving a heart transplant, it never deterred him from returning to the team as the team bugler and riflemen, epitomizing the Marine Corps motto, Semper Fidelis (Always Faithful).
During his “Tour of Duty” with the Detachment, Larry received the Detachment Iron Man Award; The Detachment Citizenship Award and the Marine Corps League Individual Meritorious Commendation Award, recognizing his devotion to duty as a member of the Detachment Ceremonial Rifle Team.
Larry received an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering from Lincoln Technical College.
He also worked in the security systems industry for Wells Fargo, EPC, ADT Security Services, and Siemens Building Services in various IT Management roles including product training and troubleshooting, and field service management. Larry was a positive influence for many teenagers and young adults. He was very involved with his children including supporting their interests by being equipment truck driver for the Jefferson Township Marching Band and Fusion Core, drum and Bugle Corps, both in NJ. Larry loved to fish and hunt. He was an avid trumpet player and was a member of the Jefferson Township, NJ, community band, the Franklin Community Band, and the Franklin Marching band in NJ.
He is survived by his wife; Monica Nardone Wolst of Dallas, GA, two children; Dan Wolst and Amanda Wolst; brothers, Michael Wolst (Denise) and Barnard Wolst (Debra), Nephew, Brian Wolst and Niece, Paige Wolst all of Hellertown, NJ.
A memorial service will be held on December 14, 2022 at 10:00 am at Mt. Bethel Methodist Church. Interment will take place at 12:30 pm on December 14, 2022 at Georgia National Cemetery with military honors
