Leonard Keating Hail II, age 83, of Marietta, GA passed away on July 26, 2024. He was born in San Francisco, CA on July 9, 1941 to the late Leonard K. and Esther P. Hail. He is preceded in death by his wife of forty-four years, Diane Hail.
He was a fifth generation Californian, having grown up, lived and worked in San Francisco and Marin County for 60sixty years before moving to Georgia to be near his sister, Marcia Cutter, and her five children who called him Uncle Lennie. He worked for the U.S. Treasury Dept. (Comptroller of the Currency) as a National Bank Examiner based in SF for his entire career through retirement.
Len was an avid lover of the arts and culture in both SF and Atlanta, regularly attending symphonies, galleries, plays, and sporting events. He had a sharp memory of details such as dates, scores, awards, names, titles, and numbers. His many friends remember him as one in a million and the most kind, gentle, and thoughtful soul.
