Born in Cienfuegos, Cuba, Lilia carried with her a deep love for family, a resilient spirit, a selfless heart, and a joyful appreciation for life. She was a devoted wife to Marc S. Sadoux for 37 years, and a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Time spent with family and friends brought her the greatest happiness, and the memories created together will be cherished forever.
From an early age, her faith in Jesus guided the way she lived and loved. She cared for others with grace, humility, and generosity, reflecting her deep and enduring faith. She was known for her radiant smile—one that could light up a room—and for her ability to meet each person exactly where they were, offering comfort, encouragement, and genuine kindness.
Lilia was a lifelong teacher and encourager. She taught Spanish for many decades, pouring love into her students and taking great joy in watching them grow. She inspired a love of learning in everyone she met, and her passion for teaching extended far beyond the classroom. She embraced every opportunity to explore, learn, and share knowledge throughout her life.
She loved to travel and found joy in sharing stories from her experiences with family and friends. She also had a special love for animals. As a devoted dog walker and lifelong animal lover, she found peace and happiness in caring for them.
Lilia will be remembered for her compassion, her warmth, her beautiful smile, and the love she shared so freely. Everyone who knew her felt her kindness, and her memory will remain with us always.
She is survived by her husband Marc; her son Fernando de Aguero (Allison) and their children Ben, Sam, Jon, and Shiloh; and her son Daniel de Aguero (Keller) and their children Ever, Desi, and Tessa. She is also survived by her brother Alexis Gonzalez (Sara) and their son Javier (Meylin) and children Joshua and Ryan; son Alex (Norma) and their son Alex; as well as extended family in both Cuba and the United States, and many dear friends and students she cherished throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Bertali Gonzalez and her parents, Filandro and Caridad Gonzalez.
