

Nancy Brooks Schroeder, a resident of Delmar Gardens Retirement Community 404 King Springs Village Parkway, Smyrna, Georgia, was born to Kenneth and Helen Brooks in Batavia, New York, on July 22, 1931.
Her early years were spent in Rochester, New York. The family moved to the Buffalo, New York area when she was four years old. She graduated from West Seneca, New York Central High School in 1948, and went on to the University of Buffalo to study to be a pharmacist. She graduated from the University of Buffalo in `1952 as one of the first female pharmacist, and began the profession of pharmacist in West Seneca. In 1953 she moved to St. Louis, Missouri, to get her license in that state. While there, she met her future husband, Donald Schroeder, while both of them were working at the Deaconess Hospital. The couple married on July 15, 1956 in New York, and moved to St. Louis, where her husband was studying for the Lutheran ministry at Concordia Seminary.
She is the mother of three sons, the Rev. Andrew, Mr. Jonathan and Mr. Peter. A daughter,, Elizabeth, predeceased her in 2013.
The couple moved about with her husband’s ministry, living in Northern Minnesota, Geneva, New York, Stuart, Florida, Thomasville, and Albany, Georgia, Wellsville, New York, Albany, Georgia, and Marietta, Georgia, where she retired from her profession in 1998.
She has lived in retirement in Marietta and Smyrna, Georgia until her death. She died on June 20, 2014 after a lengthy illness.
Nancy is preceded by her daughter, Elizabeth Law, son-in-law Scott Law, and grandson, Adam Law.
She leaves to await the resurrection, her three sons and their wives, Carol, Mrs. Andrew, Brenda, Mrs. Jonathan, and Karen, Mrs. Peter, plus twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22 from 4-8 PM at H.M. Patterson Canton Hill in Marietta. The Funeral Service will be on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Faith Lutheran Church, Marietta, Georgia. Interment at Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs, Georgia.
