Pat Donald Long

Pat Donald “Don” Long, age 62, of Marietta, GA passed away on September 28, 2017. Don was born October 4, 1954. He served in the Navy from 1972 to 1985 and travelled around the world seven times. Don had a successful career as an engineer in the paper production industry for over 30 years. He had a great love for animals and enjoyed feeding deer, raccoons, birds, and cats. Don was always helping his friends and neighbors, and loved his family dearly. He was the finest and kindest person that his wife, Nancy, has ever known. Pat is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee Long, of Marietta, GA; mother, Jacqueline Patricia Houser, of Cheraw, SC; brothers, Eugene W. Long, Jr. and his wife Vickie, of Doraville, GA, Andy A. Long, of Beach Island, SC, Dorian Houser, of Santee, CA, and Kristin Houser, of Cheraw, SC; and step sisters, Ann Stone, of Hull, GA, and Jane Girven, of North Augusta, SC. A memorial service for Don will be held Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 2:00 PM at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Don's memory may be made to Cobb Animal Shelter, 1060 Al Bishop Drive, Marietta, GA 30068.
