

Patricia Keiko Bane, age 96, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on March 7, 2024. She was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1927 to Masakazu and Chiyo Sakamoto. She graduated from Toyo Eiwa Girls School in 1945. She was living in Tokyo “under the threat of the bomb” when Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed. Yet she worked for General MacArthur as a clerk from 1947-1949 during the occupation of Japan. She was married to Robert Bane in 1950 and spent her life as an army wife traveling to posts throughout the world. She and her husband retired to Columbus, Georgia in 1996.
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bane; parents Masakazu and Chiyo Sakamoto. She is survived by 3 daughters, 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Grace Resurrection Methodist Church. Following the Memorial Service, the family will have a private committal service at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
