

It is with great honor, pride, and sadness that we, his family announce the passing of Dr. Robert “Bob” Lloyd Driscoll, age 76, of Marietta, Georgia on Thursday, June 21, 2012. Bob grew up in Wellsville, NY and graduated from State University of NY at Brockport. He then received his Masters degree from Alfred University and his PhD from Michigan State University. He started his career as a lifelong educator in Western New York before moving to Georgia to become a Professor of Education at Georgia State University. He then went on to Kennesaw State University, where he served as Dean of Education and finished his career at Reinhardt University, serving as Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dean of the College, and Professor of Education. In addition he worked on the Professional Standards Commission and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. He loved God and served on the Parish Council at Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church as well as sang in the church choir. He was a man of great strength and integrity who lived his life by his priority of family first. His families included not only his wife, daughters, and friends, but also his church and professional family that he truly loved and respected.
He is predeceased by his daughter, Stephanie Driscoll; parents, Lloyd and Martha Driscoll; brothers, Bernard Eugene and William Driscoll; and sisters, Mary Alice Richardson and Marian Whitford. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Martha Sikaras Driscoll; daughters, Tanya Burnham and Elizabeth Driscoll; grandchildren, Johnny and Robert “Bobby” Burnham; sisters, Helen D’Arcy and Nancy Wildman; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Monday, June 25th at 11 am at Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Marietta, GA. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 24th between 6 and 8pm at H.M. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, with a Trisagion prayer service at 7pm. A graveside service will be held at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wellsville, New York on Wednesday, June 27th at 12:00PM.
