Robert W Fischer Jr.

Mr. Robert W. Fischer, Jr, 64 of Marietta, GA passed away on August 2, 2012 after a 3 year battle with brain cancer. Robert was born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 22, 1948. He grew up in Bethel Park, PA, later relocating to Marietta, GA. He enjoyed being a volunteer firefighter for 15 years in Pittsburgh, achieving the position of Assistant Fire Chief. Robert spent 47 years in the home building industry, recently owning his own construction and remodeling company, Fischerbilt, Inc. He was very involved with his neighborhood, acting as the president of the homeowners association for 15 years. He was a parishioner at Transfiguration Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a loving husband and father, huge Steelers fan, but most importantly he was very involved in the lives of his grandchildren. They will miss their G-daddy. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert W. Fischer, Sr. Robert is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia Fischer, daughters, Julie Knight (Michael) and Lisa Daniel, grandchildren, Caitlyn Daniel, Hannah Knight and Emma Knight, mother, Nancy Fischer and sister, Sandra Szolis. He is the god father of Joseph W. Wiles and Stephanie L. Szolis. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 11:00am at Transfiguration Catholic Church. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00-9:00pm at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill.
