I just learned of Rush's passing and am so very sorry that I have not sent condolences before this. I have such fond memories of our childhood in Jackson and think of Rush, Cindy and Beth often. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

It is hard to believe Rush is no longer with us and you have my deepest sympathy.
When Rush brought you to my wedding in 2000,I thought that he finally met a very special exceptional woman. 
I first met Rush in the 70's when he was my upstairs neighbor. He has always been a reliable, dependable, generous, wonderful, and considerate person. He was absolutely incredible when he helped me select and buy a new car.
He was so knowledgable and thorough. Over the years, he was always been incredibly friendly and kind whenever I saw him. We will all miss him very much.

I am so saddened to hear the news about Rush. I first met him at our Toastmasters club six years ago. He was a soft spoken, kind and generous man. I came from a different part of the world, he would always ask me questions about my culture and news about my native land. He was a wonderful human being. I will miss him.

I have no words that can express the sorrow I feel for the loss of a good Friend. I will always have fond memories of the times we shared together. My prayers are with you Agnie and the Family, may God Bless ya'll and comfort ya'll in this time of need. Angie, I wanted to dedicate this pix in the memory of Rush. Last Wednesday when I went out to take pictures, I was racking my brain as to what gift I could give to you through one of my photographs to make you feel a little comfort from the passing of Rush. I am embarrassed to say I could not think of one thing that he liked or that would represents his personal interests. The reason being is that every time, (and there were many over the course of 10 years), he would always ask me how my family and I were doing. He left very little opportunity for me to ask him questions about himself. If I did ask, he would always redirect and bring back the focus to us. So I was trying to take pictures that morning of these little birds on the ice. I was failing miserably, I was freezing and they kept hopping around every other second. None of the images I had taken were working for me. I was running out of time and I was certain that I had frostbite. I was just about to call it quits, when I looked up and saw this beautiful bird. I believe it is a white falcon just looking down quietly at me. It wasn't until this past Friday that Gail told me about the donations you had requested in Rush's honor for the Sierra Club. When she told me, it was clear that I had felt Rush's presence that morning. The falcon reminded me of Rush: a quiet, gentle yet very strong presence that had been felt in our neighborhood and community. Rush will be greatly missed and we all mourn with you over your loss and ours. God Bless and much love, Karen

Dear Angelica, I was very sad and shocked when I heard of Rush's death.  He will be missed by all of us.  Please accept my sympathy.  Um abraço carinhoso.

I first met Rush 22 years ago when he was active in both the Young Careers of the High Museum and the Atlanta Ski Club. You could always count on him to be upbeat with that ready smile. We are deeply saddened by his untimely passing and send our heartfelt condolences to Angie and his family.

We have known Rush since the mid-70s from the Atlanta Ski Club. He became a financial advisor to my husband's company, as well as, to our family. When we think of Rush, there are three things that come to mind. First was his keen, but easygoing, sense of humor. Second was his sincere interest/concern in the happenings of his friends' lives. Lastly, was his complete honesty in all financial dealings and in friendly relationships. Angie and extended family, we hope memories of Rush's kind soul will sustain you through the difficult weeks and months that follow. He will be sorely missed by us and all of his many friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Angie and Rush's entire family, please know that you are surrounded by thoughts and prayers for healing and strength.  Rush will be missed by so many people whose lives who were made better just by knowing him.  He always had time for a conversation as I would catch him working in the yard.   On my daily Lilli dog walks he would make it a point to ask me how I was doing and would leave me in a better mood just for asking.  I was last left with the memory of how much he enjoyed the family fellowship and big feast that was had at Thanksgiving.  He truly loved his time with family and sharing his time in helping others. Angie, I am so sorry that I have not had the opportunity to meet the girl that Rush fell in love with and who completed his life. I am an old timer in ASC as well and met Rush in the mid 70's. I have been living in Colorado for 7 years and have been quite out of touch with many ASC folks. Now,that being said, it seems like only yesterday that I would see that friendly face and that spirited voice  and know there was a gentle person at the other end of it...yes, it was always Rush. Funny thing about the Ski Club group is that even out of site is never out of mind and when they reunite this week in celebration of Rush and his life well lived, you will know the love we all have for your precious husband...and one another. I know your memories will be sweet and I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.I think we ASC group like to think that we gave one another the time of our lives but from what I am understanding it has been you who fulfilled his dreams and I hope you can cherish those thoughts as time goes by.

Although this may seem funny I remember that one time Rush and I were on a bus going to who knows where and we were singing Roy Rogers theme song and now it holds true...Happy trails to you, until we meet again.

His Mother and Father were our friends growing up.  Rush was an example of a life well lived - Rush was interesting because he was genuinely  interested in others. I feel fortunate to have had Rush as a dear friend for almost 40 years.  It was such a shock to get the sad news from Angie earlier this week.
We “oldtime” members of the Atlanta Ski Club first got to know Rush well in the mid-70s when we enjoyed dozens of memorable adventures of all kinds with him including scuba diving, hiking, camping, lake & beach trips, and of course snow skiing.  Over the decades Rush and I continued to see each other often and share many common interests.  I was delighted at his request last spring to co-lead a joint Sierra Club - Atlanta Outdoor Club dayhike with him and Angie and their friend Bob Springfield at lovely Vickery Creek in Roswell.
For many years it has also been a special treat for me to work with Rush in support of the worthy missions of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta where his generous volunteerism will never be forgotten.  It was at UUCA where Rush first introduced me to Angie several years ago.
Angie, you and Rush being natural “soul mates” was always so very obvious to everyone both before and after your marriage, and you can be sure that we who loved Rush will always cherish your friendship.  We hope to continue to see you often as you “carry his flaming chalice” forward and remind us of his gentle laugh and heartwarming smile.

So very sad for your loss.  Wishing you strength and peace, and the knowledge that Rush has just stepped beyond the veil that divides us from our loved ones, until we meet again!

Cousin Rush and I have shared time together from birth through the early sixties while summering in Mt. Pleasant. His passing will leave a huge gap in the family but we will fill it with the many great memories we all shared together.

As a guest at your family gatherings or seeing you and Rush loading Bailey in your car for a sunny drive or a walk, I could see the love you shared. You took such good care of each other. I'm sad to hear of Rush's passing.  He's someone I was particularly looking forward to seeing again at the 50th Reunion of Murrah High School's Class of 1964.  We shared similar world views, and he was a stellar fellow!  My condolences to his family and close Marietta friends.

I was just getting to know Rush well this last year and the news of his passing is a deep shock. He was kind, gentle, and loved humor. He was dedicated to being a good steward of the Earth and that inspired me. I am grateful for the example that he set for all of us.

Rush started coming to the Mt. Pleasant reunions when I was a teen.  Even though those events were basically the only contacts I had with him, I fondly remember many years of talking to him and watching as he grew and matured into the wonderful man that too soon left us.

I will miss Rush very much.  He did so much for our church--Board, Nominating Committee, Head Usher, and so much more.  But more than what he did was who he was...funny, friendly, kind, delightful, with a genuine smile to welcome every person.  I am so sad, and my sorrow is shared by many in our faith community.

Angie, it is so difficult to realize that Rush is gone. I recently got your Christmas card and was thinking we should make plans to see you both soon. My prayers are with you.

Angie, it's hard to believe that Rush is gone - hard for me, and it must be hard for you, too. He was a wonderful person - sweet, smart and funny - and his life was blessed to have you in it. May time speed its passage to heal your heart sooner.

Although I did not see Rush and Angie often, he was my first cousin and I love my family.  Rush and Angie came to every life event in the Netterville family.  I expected to see him at a wedding on New Years Eve in Woodville, MS,  I did not know he was ill,  he would have been there otherwise. I loved his mother and daddy and it is comforting to know he is with them now.
