

Sandra was born in 1936 in Jacksonville, Florida, to Weta Willis Sanders and James L. Sanders. She graduated from Landon High School and, much later in life, pursued her passion for art by studying under renowned portrait artist John Howard Sanden.
A devoted homemaker, Sandra was also a talented part-time portrait artist specializing in fine oil paintings. Her artistic eye and gentle spirit were evident in both her work and the way she cared for her family and friends.
Sandra and her husband, J. G. Scott, moved frequently due to his business career. In addition to Georgia, they lived in Puerto Rico, New Jersey, and North Carolina. Sandra had a deep love of travel, and she and JG enjoyed many adventures together, visiting Israel, Alaska, Bermuda, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Canada, and numerous states across the U.S.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Weta and James Sanders, and her first husband, David Simmons.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband, J. G. Scott; her daughters, Tiffany Tanner and Leslie Mohr King; and her sons, J. David Scott, T. Wesley Scott, John S. Simmons, Mark S. Simmons, and Julian B. Mohr. She is also survived by daughters-in-law Marni Mohr, Becky Scott, Karen Scott, and former daughters-in-law, Katy Simmons and Carol Scott.
Her grandchildren include Joshua P. Tanner, Matthew Travis Tanner, Jamie Rose Carter (Roger), Serena M. Gohs (Geoff), Kyle A. King (Courtney), David Lee Simmons (McKenzie), Spencer Simmons, Suzie Simmons, Hannah Simmons, Russell Simmons, Samuel Mohr, Etta Mohr, Trey Mohr, James W. Scott (Kara), Andrew D. Scott (Julia), Molly May Stengel (Samuel), Reagan Walter, and Reilly Pearsons (Trey).
She was blessed with great-grandchildren Hadley Jay, Francis, Myers, Banks, Lewis, Sadie May, Addy, and Mason.
Sandra is also survived by her sister-in-law Elizabeth “Bliss” Payne, brother-in-law Richard “Larry” Scott, and many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, including Kellie and Lonnie Mullins, Michael Mullins, Stephen and Chelle Kohl, Jack and Rowan Kohl, Keith and Jimmy Payne, Barbara, Nick and Nicky Bruno, Denise, Jerry and Emily Stone, and Magan Mellinger (Kyle).
Sandra was surrounded throughout her life by many lifelong friends, new friends, and her beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, whose faith and fellowship meant so much to her.
The family will receive guests from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at HM Patterson Canton Hill Funeral Home. A service to honor Mrs. Sandra will be held at 1:00pm. She will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Arlington Memorial Park.
