Sue Ng Kwan

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Sue Kwan, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother aged 88 years, on August 3, 2022. Born in China, Sue later married Hoi Lam Kwan in 1950. In 1963, she traveled across seas to the US with her husband to help Hoi Lam Kwan's parents run Joe's Laundry & Dry Cleaning in Atlanta, Georgia, which the elder Kwans founded in 1938. Sue and Hoi Lam Kwan were named Urban Entrepreneurs of the Year by FCS Community Economic Development Inc. for their determination to serve the community throughout the years. Sue and Hoi Lam proudly became US citizens in 1973. Sue had a great passion for gardening and was very proud of her Chinese vegetable gardens. She very much enjoyed dim sum with her family and friendship with others while playing mahjong.

Sue is survived by her son Kenneth Kwan, his wife Annie, grandson Jason Kwan, granddaughter Allison Kwan and husband Joseph Melton; daughter Nancy Kwan Hom and her husband Michael Hom, granddaughter Stephanie Gardner, husband Jeff Gardner, great grandchildren Addison, James, and Reid Gardner, grandson Stephen Hom, wife Josephine Jing, great grandchildren Victoria and Hugh Hom, granddaughter Selena Langbehn, husband Casey Langbehn, great grandchildren Luke and Owen Langbehn, grandson Eric Hom; son Paul Kwan and his wife Ellen, granddaughter Bonny Bivone, husband Mike Bivone, great grandchildren Avery and Isla Bivone, granddaughter Sandra Kwan; son Jeff Kwan and his wife Christy, granddaughters Charli and Josie Kwan; son Michael Kwan and his wife Yan, grandson Mikey Kwan; and son Carl Kwan. She is also survived by her brother, Man Hong Ng. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Hoi Lam Kwan. She lived a full life as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

A Visitation, for Sue, will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 10-11 AM at Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 2000 Cobb Parkway S.E., Marietta, Georgia, 30060. Her, Funeral Services will be held following the visitation at 11 AM in the funeral home. The Committal will follow at noon and a celebration of Sue's life will follow at the funeral home at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Brain Foundation,
