Teri is survived by her husband, Richard Ross Day; her children, Ross Douglas Day and Andrew Christopher Day; her daughter-in-law, Natalie LaLonde Day; her two grandchildren, Addison and Breckin; her brother Mark Douglas Meyers; her sister Kalar Carol Holland; and, her beloved pup, Lincoln.
Teri was born on May 27, 1955 in Warner Robbins, Georgia to Harold Douglas Meyers and Mary Wyatt Meyers. After completing an education guided by two professional educators as parents, she moved to Marietta, GA to pursue a career in textile distribution and sales. It was in 1978 when she separated amicably from her first husband of five years, Joesph W. Carr, Jr. After many years of hard work, focus, and dedication, she rose through the leadership ranks of Oxford Clothing Company. Teri met her lifetime husband and true love, Richard Ross Day, as a result of relationships built amongst coworkers and friends. The two were married on June 9, 1979 in Marietta, GA.
Richard and Teri had their first child, Ross Douglas Day, on October 9, 1980. After years of achieving professional advancement, Teri gradually shifted her focus toward raising their first child. On July 11, 1984, the couple had their second child, Andrew Christopher Day. Teri continued to deftly balance these duties and more for many years, until late 1991, when she left the workplace in response to the tide of raising two mischievous young boys. She was both fiercely protective and fondly loving of her children. In addition to being a proud mother, Teri was intensely dedicated and constantly supportive of her husband of 37 years.
Teri will be remembered for her big heart, her sense of humor, and her quick tongue, all the while incorporating her southern charm. She was loving and caring to everyone, including total strangers. Teri volunteered at hospitals and was committed to social causes that were dear to her closest friends. Teri was a prolific writer of well-wishes and loving support, and always had the most appropriate card for every occasion! She kept the chains of family and friends strongly connected through written correspondence; a task considerably more difficult before the Internet. Teri left us too soon and will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 3pm-5pm at H.M. Patterson and Son-Canton Hill Chapel in Marietta, GA. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the love and life of Teri Day. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Alzheimer's Association or The Salvation Army.
