
Ted was born September 30, 1919 in East Orange, NJ to Henry F. and Grace M. Burr. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Martha G. Burr; by two brothers, George and Harold Burr; and by Jeanne Redman Burr whom he married in 1995. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Richard H. and Judith A. Burr of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Dianne M. and Daniel Peterson of Marietta, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Joanne M. and Donald J. Ricks of Haslett, MI; son and daughter-in-law, David T. and Lorijo B. Burr of Southlake, TX; step-daughter, Linda Redman of Lilburn, GA; step-son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Kathy Redman of Milton, VT; and step-daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Darryl Peterson of Daytona Beach, FL. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Ted grew up in Orange, NJ. He moved to Rochester, NY when he was 20 to attend Mechanics Institute (becoming Rochester Institute of Technology in 1944). He worked for General Motors from 1939 to 1974 with intervening service as an infantryman during World War II. He retired from GM in 1974 while working for the Oldsmobile division in Lansing, MI. He lived in Michigan, Florida and Georgia after retirement.
In retirement, Ted was a valued handyman, was active in several churches, the Lions Club, Meals on Wheels and a community volunteer.
Ted will be deeply missed and remembered as a loving father, devoted husband and a caring friend.
Private memorial services will be held in Williamston, MI.
