Thomas P Dunn

Mr. Thomas P. Dunn, 87 of Marietta, GA passed away March, 24, 2013. Tom was born to the late Frances K. and Laurence J. Dunn on November 29, 1925 in Yonkers, NY. After his graduation from Sacred Heart High School, Tom joined the United States Navy and honorably served during World War II. He then attended the University of Wisconsin. Tom enjoyed a successful career in the carpet industry spanning from 1948 to his retirement in 1988 as Reginald Vice President of Karastan-Bigelow. Tom was an active parishioner of the Catholic Church of St. Ann, volunteered at OLPH, and was the dedicated patriarch of the Dunn family. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandchildren, Matthew T. Dunn, Meghan Gaugh and Keegan Gaugh. Tom is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rita Dunn, sons, Laurence J. Dunn (Kathy) and Thomas P. Dunn, Jr. (Cathy), daughters, Kathleen D. Coleman (Mark), Coleen D. Gregory (Jake), Maureen Dunn, Denise D. Stanton (Brett) and Bethann D. Phifer (Gary), grandchildren, Jeffrey L. Dunn, Brian C. Dunn, Justin Bashaw, Kelly M. Coleman, Kyle F. Coleman, Thomas P. Dunn, III, Michael Bishop, Zachary F. Gregory, Leslie G. English, J.F. Gregory, Mary Claire Stanton, Katie Stanton, Sadie Stanton, Cari Caufman and Philip Phifer, great-grandchildren, Aurora Hailey Dunn, Elena Christine Dunn, Lilah Elizabeth Dunn, Connor Matthew Dunn, Jack English, Reed Gregory, Ryan Bishop, Ashleigh Bishop, Nate Nugent and Drew Nugent and brother, Ed Dunn (Eleanor). A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 11:00am at the Catholic Church of St. Ann. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00-8:00pm at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill with the rosary being said at 7:30pm.
