My sincere condolences to Shirley and her family for the tragic and sudden loss of Tom.  George and I have such great memories with Tom over a period of 50 years.  Tom was George's best man in our wedding in 1973 and was like an uncle to our son, especially when Nick was a young boy.  When George became ill with dementia, Tom would call him regularly and occasionally come to stay for a couple of hours while I got out of the house.  So very sorry for this to happen, I will surely will miss him!

Well Tom ..  David and I are still in shock that you are gone 😥. We have some amazing memories of you..  the first one was when we met you and Shirley and Chad for the first time when we moved into Eagle Watch..  must have been in 1992.  We had just closed on the home and you all were getting g home from one of Chad’s little league games..  Jeff (our son ) and Chad became fast friends as did you and Shirley ..  we lived across the street from each for for just 2 years ..  but I was blessed to work with you for many years and when you and Shirley moved to South Georgia - you would stay with David and I when you came through Atlanta for meetings and travel..  your funny names for everything and everyone will forever be branded in our hearts..  you are in Gods hands now and sure hope he appreciates your sense of humor!! So many fond memories of Tom, the forever cool Uncle.  I so looked forward to seeing him when he came back to Pittsburgh for a visit and getting his lovingly personalized Christmas and birthday cards every year.  A role model for me as young man, I will always cherish the last time we shared stories and whiskey at the kitchen table 4 years ago.

Our hearts are filled with sadness in Pittsburgh. Uncle Tom was a kind, gentle person and will truly be missed. Even with the distance between us he always remembered our birthdays and anniversary. I remember as a child looking forward to his visits every Christmas and listening to his southern drawl. Rest in Peace Uncle Tom. We love you.

We would like to extend our sincere condolences to Shirley and her family. My friendship with Tom ran very deep, starting in the fifth grade through adulthood. Tom had a sense of humor that was unparalleled, which lead to fun times and memories that are too numerous to pen or put on paper. When Tom came into the room, he made it a better place, and I am sure he is making heaven a better place, too. Tom was the kind of a friend who only comes once in a lifetime. He was the most thoughtful and kind person that I could ever hope to be. He was always there when you were in need. 
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

I was truly blessed to not only have Tom as my uncle, but also as my Godfather.  Uncle Tom was  was so generous to me growing up, and was especially kind to me during the holidays and birthday celebrations when I was a kid.  He always made me feel special. We are deeply saddened by the loss of brother Tom. A loving, kind and caring brother. It saddens us  to not be able to attend his funeral in person due to safety, and we know Tom would understand these concerns.  We looked forward to Tom’s weekly phone calls where stories were shared, old memories reminisced, and talks of the Steelers, Pirates and sports in general  were the main event. Uncle Tom and I always had a special bond. My last words with him were of LOVE and some teasing.  He always  loved unconditionally and cherished his family. Certainly he will be missed by us all, and my heart is filled with sadness. I am thankful for the memories over the years and wish we had time to create more. Shirley and family- Our thoughts and prayers are with you!  We are so saddened to hear of Tom’s passing.  A mass will be offered for the Lucas family on Nov 18th at St Peter’s Church in Somerset. I remember Tom as my cute big cousin who had a ready smile and happy eyes! May his soul Rest In Peace!

Cousin Bill

We are so devastated that we cant travel to Georgia to honor our Beloved Brother and Brother in law.  Our hearts our broken but covid 19 prevents us from travelling from Tom's home town Pittsburghl
 We 4 brother George,  83 can barely walk my wife, Arlene 70 takes  cares of me. Brother Len 81 in fairly good health taking care of his wife Janice 76 cancer survivor, persistent afib, oxygen, and many health issues are sad we  can't attend with their adult children . We all loved Tom, will miss him terribly. RIP Tom u were loved buy all of us!
