Timothy “Tim” Johnston Bussart, age 56, of Roswell, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, after a brief illness. Known for his kindness, humor, and unwavering faith, Tim’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and service to others.
Born on August 24, 1968, in Cherry Hill, North Carolina, Tim was the beloved son of James Christopher Bussart and Deborah Snyder Bussart. He was a devoted brother to Suzanne Bussart La Forgia and a proud and loving uncle to Jesse Michael James La Forgia. His father, Jim, preceded him in death in 2022. Tim is survived by his mother, Debbie; his sister, Suzanne; and his cherished nephew, Jesse.
Tim had a special bond with the Balose family—Kim, John, Ellie, and Ansley—that was built on more than four decades of love and shared memories. He embraced the role of ‘Uncle Tim’ with joy, taking great pride in watching Ellie and Ansley grow into remarkable young women and never missing a chance to celebrate their achievements.
He attended and graduated from Presbyterian College where he earned the name “Coach” and developed lifelong friendships. He later earned an additional degree from Kennesaw State University, and worked in the mortgage business for several years. Then fate brought him to Publix Store #86, his home and work family for the past 17 years. He was beloved by both coworkers and customers for his warmth, dedication, and especially his daily “Joke of the Day.” His talent for puns and good-natured humor made every shift brighter.
Tim’s life was anchored in his love for Jesus, and he lived out his faith in the way he treated others—with compassion, humility, and joy. Although a 1986 graduate of Joseph Wheeler High School, he later became a loyal fan of Pope High School athletics because of his customers and friends at Publix. Tim could often be found cheering at Pope games and staying connected to his community.
He will be remembered for his heart, his humor, his unwavering devotion to his family and friends, and the countless lives he touched through his simple acts of kindness; And of course, all the puns. He had a pun-derful life, filled with laughter and love.
We will celebrate Tim’s life at Eastminster Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 3pm. All who knew and loved Tim are welcome to attend and honor his memory. A reception at the church will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Tim’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to his heart.
