Tom was born on November 28, 1937 to Anna Tomlinson Lee and John Bunyan Lee in Cleveland, Tennessee. He was the youngest of six children but easily the one with the biggest imagination and the best sense of adventure.
His life took him all around the globe. After serving his country in the United States Air Force, Tom attended Tennessee Tech to obtain his degree in Mechanical Engineering. While there, he met the love of his life, Mary Sue Anderson. Upon graduation, they wed in January of 1963 and began building a life together. He later earned his MBA from the University of Georgia. He worked as an engineer for companies such as Firestone, Lockheed, TVA, Institute for Nuclear Power Operations and several others.
While working hard to build his career, he and Mary Sue were also blessed to build a family that included four children: David Thomas, Suzanne Paige, Melinda Gayle and one precious little girl that was lost at birth. As their family grew, Tom was always there to provide the adventure on annual family vacations with their dear, lifelong friends Jerry and Linda Clevenger.
Tom was the rock of his family, seeing them through some of the most difficult seasons a family could ever face. From the loss of their daughter Suzanne, to lovingly caring for his wife in her final years, Tom never wavered. He boldly stood up and did what needed to be done.
Of all the titles and names he was referred to, none was more important to him than the esteemed role of “Papa T.” He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren and each was special to him. Tom is survived by son, David (Keri) Lee; daughter, Melinda (Jon) Parks and grandchildren Anna, Ryan, Elliott, Katy, and Lydia Parks, and Heidy Lee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue, their daughter, Suzanne Paige, three brothers Harry C. Lee, JB Lee, Robert F. Lee and two sisters, Minnie Ruth Hunter and Mary Helen Lee.
Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, 16th of February at HM Patterson and Son Chapel with a reception to follow with light refreshments.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you please consider a donation in his memory to the Sacred Road Ministries, PO Box 400 Harrah, WA 98933 c/o Youth Ministries.
