William Garic Aertker, age 43, of Sandy Springs, Georgia passed away on August 30, 2024. Garic was born in Mesa, Arizona on January 8, 1981. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. He graduated from Pope High School. He then graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in marketing, and was a proud member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.
Garic had a successful career in Marketing and Media. Never one to shy away from adventure, his career afforded him the memories of traveling to every corner of the US. He also spent time living in both New York City and Anchorage, AK before settling back home in Georgia.
He was bright and analytical, and he loved trivia. This was best evidenced while watching Jeopardy with him, playing games, and discussing any random factoids.
In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors, listening to music, and spending time with friends and loved ones. In his younger years, Garic enjoyed rock climbing, mountain biking, camping and snow skiing. He was a true boy scout at heart.
He will be remembered for many things but few more than an overall kindness and gentleness, and a billowing laugh that would fill up the room. Garic is survived by his mother, June Aertker. His father and stepmother, Steve and Cindy Aertker. His sisters, Brooke Bachstein, Kailyn Hartnett, and Ansley Preston. His brother, Chase Aertker. His brother-in-laws, Joey Bachstein, Nick Hartnett, Matt Preston, as well as his nieces and nephews, Tyler and Connor Bachstein, Willa Hartnett, and Palmer and Jack Preston.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider a donation to your local Humane society. Better yet, open your home and heart to an animal in need. Garic would want us to spoil them all rotten.
