William "Bill" M. Floyd

William M FLOYD, age 77, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022. William (Bill) was born January 20, 1945 in Richmond, Kentucky to the late Kathryn Covington Burnam and William Wheeler Johnson. He graduated in 1970 from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. A Licensed Professional Engineer, William completed numerous projects across Georgia, Virginia, and the Southeast during his long career. In 1998, he retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel from the Georgia Air National Guard, 116th Bomb Wing after 21 years of service to his country in both the Army and Air Force. Hobbies included hunting, fishing and traveling, especially to see family and friends.

William (Bill) is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wanda; daughter, Jennifer Martell (Blake), son, Will Floyd (Brett), sisters Charlotte Raleigh and Margaret Bowen, and brothers, Christopher Floyd and Charles Floyd. He was blessed with three amazing grandchildren, Tolin Martell, Beckett Martell, and Paige Martell.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Floyd.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 12:30 pm, Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly ask that you consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in William's (Bill) name.
